Raging Roland
The Rasender Roland is a steam-powered narrow-gauge railway on Germany’s largest island. The small train runs daily on a 750 mm gauge from Putbus via Binz, Sellin and Baabe to Göhren. The Racing Roland, as it is also known, has been driving across the island of Rügen at a speed of 30 km/h since 1895 and connects the well-known Baltic Sea resorts with each other. Get on board and enjoy nostalgia and romance far from the streets.
Treetop Walk
The treetop path and the viewing tower are barrier-free and family-friendly. A maximum incline of 6% also allows for a carefree visit with a wheelchair and pram. The highlight of the path is the 40 meter high lookout tower, also known as the Eagle’s Nest. Unique and not only because of its airy architectural form, but also because of the way the tower was built around a 30 meter high copper beech. Arriving at the viewing platform, you will be rewarded with an impressive view of the Rügen landscape and the Baltic Sea.
